Besides producing LNG, the Arun and Bontang LPG plants succeeded to place Indonesia as the biggest LPG exporter in the Far East, because the gas in both places contains propanes and butanes in large quantities, favourable to be processed into LPG.

The Bunyu Methanol Plant after construction in 1989 with a capacity of 300,000 tons a year. Associated gas produced by the Bunyu oil field, previously not utilized, was processed into methanol.

The Muarakarang power plant in Jakarta which started operation in 1993 uses gas from the PERTAMINA-MAXUS field.

The Export Oriented Refinery-I (EXOR-I) in Balongan West Java, was completed in March 1994, with the purpose to increase the sales value of the Duri crude. EXOR-I processed Duri crude with a capacity of 125,000 barrels a day complete with a residue cracking unit.
