Besides high technology and huge investments are required in exploring and processing oil, high risks are also imminent.

Is fossil fuel expensive?

A bottle of drinking water is sold at Rp. 2,000 a liter and Diesel fuel Rp. 1,650 a liter!

Besides that, we should also consider that:

1. Besides high technology and high costs are needed for searching for reserves, drilling wells, producing and processing crude oil, high risks should be faced.
2. Nowadays it's harder to find oil reserves, making it to need a more and more sophisticated technology.
3.

Since oil is a nonrenewable energy resource, besides it is necessary to use it sparingly, we should also look for alternative energy resources.

4.

The recent fuel prices are still subsidized. This subsidy which requires a huge amount of funds, has also its dark sides like tempting people to smuggle fuel abroad.

5.

To minimize the negative impacts, the government has started to gradually decrease the subsidy.
